A day is not what it used to be

muchlovedchaos January 16, 2018

A schedule is needed or so they say.  We have a schedule–though it be a little looser than some–its a schedule.  Not too long ago, we had 4 children under our roof; three were school aged. Our days were well planned, from school to chores, to errands and shopping and to Gym and Swim.  We did it.  Homeschooling began when our oldest was in 5th grade and our middle in 2nd.  Our youngest at the time was a toddler.  We did it and I think we did it well.  I even managed to squeeze in a part time job as well.  It worked for us.

Jump forward 12 years and look through the same looking glass and you will see a different kind of day.  The oldest has not only graduated from College, but has also gotten married.  The middle child is now in her sophomore year at a not too far university. And that toddler is now a freshman in high school and there is a caboose –a 2nd grader that runs this family like no other.

So our days are no longer packed with activities for 4 children, but rather 2.  We have 2 very active boys.  They like to get their schooling done and get outside.  They both have a whole lot of love for the outdoors. Whether it be riding dirt bikes, fixing dirt bikes, learning new jumps on their scooters–they are after it.  There are days here and there that take us out for errands, an activity or two; but, no longer the frenzy of activity there once was.  Or maybe its a different kind of frenzy.

I miss those days with all 4 of my children being home.  So now, I always appreciate the brief moments when they all come home.  Whether it be for a meal, a holiday or any other reason–I love it. Those are the days when our loose schedule becomes no schedule and we just take it all in.

Hope your day is beautiful!

Susan

The Reason I want to Visit 1400’s Italy

muchlovedchaos January 12, 2018

Are you looking for a story that has a Christian base, a love triangle, and an adventure that will keep you turning the page to find out what happens next? Then say no more!!!

Image result for river of time seriesTitle: Waterfall book 1: River of Time Series
By: Lisa T. Bergren
Released: 2011

Waterfall is only the beginning of an amazing story. Set in 1400’s Italy, the story follows Gabi Beterrini on her journey to find her missing sister, Lia. The two sisters, living in our present time, use a portal, found in an excavated tomb, to travel over 600 years into the past. Through the traveling the sisters get separated and Gabi emerges through the tomb walking right into a medieval sword fight. She is safely taken back to the castle of Marcello Forelli, a ruggedly handsome lord. In order to survive, Gabi creates an identity for herself in order to blend in. Unfortunately, her plan doesn’t work, because of her surpassing beauty and her jaw dropping sword skills. But once Gabi finds where Lia is trapped, Gabi must sneak behind enemy lines to rescue her.

I loved this book so-so much! I wasn’t sure how the whole time travel thing would go but Lisa Bergren did a great job. In order to give a better perspective of life in medieval Italy, Lisa Bergren did plenty of research on the topic which adds great details.

One thing that I liked about the book was that it was Christian based. It has a good, solid foundation, so it is not just about a high school couple in love.

Another thing, I loved how awesome Gabi was at kicking butt. Not only was she able to pick up the 20 pound sword but she was able to swing it around with precision. Also she was gorgeous and had Marcello Forelli fawning and watching over her. Who would not want to be this girl?

Has anyone read this book? What are you reading that is so good you can’t put down?

Would love to hear your feed back!

Xo,

Kendall

New Year New Beginning

muchlovedchaos January 8, 2018

Welcome to Much Loved Chaos! This is where we document our crazy life one event at a time. No one’s life is perfect or glamorous but ours is fun, exciting, and a little saucy too;)

Today is a new day, a clean start. Where we start those New Years Resolutions (that we will usually drop by or before February 1st). We (Susan-aka mom- and Kendall-aka daughter) have mulled over, chewed through, and banged our heads against the GRAND idea of creating a blog for so long and it has FINALLY happened. Cross your fingers it goes well. We hope you join us on this journey of documenting the ups and downs, our likes and dislikes, and our struggles and celebrations.

Our biggest celebration for this year is starting the New Year, simple as that. The 2017 year was filled with many many bumps in the road. Hurdles and struggles that we wish not to repeat. So, we are holding our heads high, looking to the horizon, and trusting in God that we will have a much better year.
