Today, I want to share with you this lovely home. This home is very near and dear to my heart. It sits in a beautiful community in Winston Salem, NC and has been lovingly maintained. As we walk through the house, you will see some of the many custom features that were selected that make this house feel like home.
As we go up the walk, you can see the glass front door, one of my many favorite features, as well as, the working shutters.
Welcome friends! The foyer is nice and bright and look at the transoms going into the dining room and the office. Just look at this front door! Don’t you love it?
Turning to the dining room, we can see the shiplap with wallpaper above. The table that is used in the dining room is known as a cobblers table. The top opens up to seat 8. Can you believe that! Baskets below, store placemats and other linens for an impromptu meal. This room overlooks the front porch. Bright and light!
Let’s move into the kitchen. Look at the sunlight just spilling into the kitchen. The painted island has a butcher block counter and can seat 3. Storage abounds in this kitchen. A multitude of cabinets through out the entire kitchen including lockers for each family member to store there personal stuff. There’s an unexpected surprise just off the kitchen.
Most family and friends today choose to come through the back door rather than the front door so, what better way to greet your guest. A nice warm entry right off the kitchen. Full of windows and a coat rack to hang your coat.
Off the backside of the kitchen, is the breakfast nook. Once again, look at all of the natural light that floods this space. The homeowners truly had fresh, natural light in mind when they built this home. The ceiling is vaulted with exposed beams.
The main level master suite is bright and spacious with warm furnishings just drawing you in. Plenty of space for a sitting area as well as a writing desk overlooking the backyard. What a sweet retreat.
Let’s head downstairs. Do you need an exercise room or do you enjoy playing pool? The fireplace adds just the perfect touch to this space. How about the wainscoting?
Would you rather sit and watch a movie or play a game of scrabble? Look at the brick walls and the built ins. Do you see the windows behind the tv? The space with the game table is basically a mirror image of the breakfast nook.
Upstairs, on the 2nd floor, is a bonus space where projects abound. Hardwoods are a great investment in a project room for easy clean up. Built in storage helps keeps this space organized.
This is one of 3 bedrooms on the 2nd floor. The queen size bed fits perfectly in the niche. Sconces are a nice touch and are great to have when reading at night. It’s so hard to find secondary bedrooms that hold much more than a bed. The bedrooms are not only above average size, but also have great closet space.
So let me tell you a little secret. If you’re in the market for a new home in the Winston Salem, NC area, this wonderful home could be yours. My brother and sister in law are relocating and have recently put their home on the market. Our family has enjoyed celebrating many Christmases, Thanksgivings, Birthdays and even our parents 50th Wedding anniversary in this home and now it’s time to pass this treasure onto a new family.
Have a wonderful day!
