Hello again my friends,
Wow! We have had a winter wonderland settle in for the past few days; how about you? Snow is seen only a few times during the winter in our part of NC; but when it does show up, we all take a pause to enjoy it.
With all of the outdoor activities, dinner is sometimes an after thought. Personally, for me, its all the outdoor gear that needs to run through the dryer so the kids can get back out to play that wears me out.
So, what’s better than a simple pot of chili for dinner. My sister in law shared this recipe with me years ago and it has become a staple at our house. After browning the ground meat you’re quickly on your way to the finish line. Dump your 2 cans of Bush’s Magic Chili starter, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes and a few spices and just let it simmer. I told you this would be simple.
There are at least 3 varieties of the Chili Magic Chili starter. Our local stores usually carry the Traditional flavor but the others are harder to find. I did see that you can buy it on Amazon, so perhaps I will try that.
I hope you enjoy this quick and easy dinner. The pot of chili is on our stove for dinner tonight!
1 1/2 -2 lbs of Beef
2 cans of Bush’s Chili Magic Chili Starter (mix 2 varieties if you can)
1 can of seasoned diced tomatoes
2 T Chili Powder
1 can of tomato sauce
2 C water
2 T Sugar
Brown the beef. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for one hour. You can always add toppings too such as cheese, sour cream, green onions, crackers or tortilla chips.
